Dr. Siraj Mithoowani
Dr. Siraj Mithoowani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, McMaster University and works as a clinical hematologist at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton where his practice is focused on non-malignant and thrombotic blood disorders. He completed his medical degree, residency, and fellowship at McMaster University and graduated with a Master’s degree in Health Professions Education from Maastricht University, Netherlands. His research interests are in knowledge translation, laboratory monitoring of anticoagulants, and postgraduate medical education.

Dr. Martina Trinkaus
Dr. Martina Trinkaus is an associate professor and staff hematologist at St. Michael’s Hospital with the University of Toronto. She completed her undergraduate training at Queen’s University and completed her medical school and residency training at the University of Toronto. She also obtained a Master’s of Clinical Teachers and was the program director for the largest Adult Hematology Training Program in Canada from 2013 – 2023. She currently serves as the Faculty Lead for Valuing the Clinician Teacher. She also has active roles in education including hematology curriculum development, both locally and nationally, and serves on multiple committees, including Co-Chair of Women in Cancer and the JuMP in Oncology and Hematology National Junior Faculty Mentorship Program. Her research is focused on mentorship, teaching performance, and teaching evaluation scoring systems.

Dr. Shreyash Dalmia
Shreyash is a hematologist and clinical fellow in Malignant Hematology at McMaster University. His clinical focus is in myeloid disorders. He is interested in open access medical education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and quality improvement.
Favorite blood cell: Basophils (they only come out when something strange is afoot!).

Dr. Danyal Ladha
Danyal Ladha is a Hematology trainee (PGY5) at the University of Toronto. He received his medical degree from Newcastle University in the UK and subsequently completed Internal Medicine training at the University of Ottawa before moving to Toronto, where he is currently completing his hematology training. Danyal is particularly interested in malignant hematology and passionate about teaching and medical education. Outside of work, he is likely to be found either on a run (preferably ending with food), trying a new restaurant, or planning his next vacation.
Favourite blood cell: plasma cell!

Dr. Stefan Jevtic
Stefan is currently completing his hematology training at the University of Toronto. He obtained his medical degree and internal medicine training from McMaster University. His passions include platelet immunology, coagulation, and teaching.
Favorite blood cell: Platelets (but are they even really a cell?)

Dr. Sarah Ge
Sarah is a PGY3 internal medicine resident at McMaster University. She completed her medical degree at the University of Toronto. Her interests include hematology, as well as medical education and global health research.
Favorite blood cell: RBCs, they’re boring but an absolute staple (you can’t live without them!)

Dr. Linda Guo
Linda is a PGY1 internal medicine resident at the University of Calgary. She received her medical degree from the University of Toronto. She is passionate about hematology, medical education, and research. Outside of the hospital, she can be found exploring new hiking trails or in the choir.
